How to trade Hyperliquid perps from your own wallet
You trade Hyperliquid from your own wallet. cabbge never holds your money and never has a key that could move it. Here is the whole mechanism, including the parts most front-ends leave out.
Setup: two signatures, once
- Connect a wallet. On a desktop, any injected wallet. On a phone, open cabbge inside your wallet's own browser.
- Approve a trading key. You sign one message that authorises a Hyperliquid agent key. Hyperliquid's protocol lets that key place and cancel orders and forbids it from withdrawing or moving collateral — that limit is enforced by the exchange, not by cabbge being careful. You can revoke it whenever you like from Hyperliquid's own API settings.
- Approve the fee, once, if there is one. A second signature naming a maximum builder-fee rate. This step does not appear yet, because cabbge is not charging a fee.
After that, every order is signed by the agent key in the background. No wallet popup per trade.
Funding
Your money goes to Hyperliquid, not to cabbge. Send USDC on Arbitrum to Hyperliquid's bridge — the desk shows the address when your balance is too low to trade. The minimum is $5; Hyperliquid loses deposits smaller than that. From another chain, or with a card, use Hyperliquid's own deposit page, which takes Bitcoin, Solana, Base and more.
Placing a trade
Pick a market, choose long or short, set your margin and leverage, and confirm twice — the first tap shows exactly what is at risk. The defaults are deliberately careful:
| Default | Why |
|---|---|
| Isolated margin | Only the margin on that trade can be lost. A single bad position cannot drain the account. |
| 5x leverage, slider capped at 10x | You can unlock higher, but you have to choose to. In a random sample of 10,000 Hyperliquid depositors, 27% lost more than 85% of their capital within 30 days. |
| Stop loss pre-filled at half your margin | Clearable if you do not want one, but it starts on rather than off. |
| Two-tap confirm | The first tap states the side, market, leverage and the money at risk. |
Prediction markets
Hyperliquid runs outcome markets: Yes/No contracts on crypto prices, macro events and sports. You buy a side at the book's price and each contract pays $1 if you are right and nothing if you are not, so the odds set the payout — 35 cents pays about 2.9x, 90 cents about 1.1x. Settlement is automatic; there is nothing to claim. These bets are signed by your wallet directly, one signature each.
Copy trading
Follow any Hyperliquid wallet with a cap you set. When it opens a perp, cabbge prompts you, and nothing is placed until you tap Copy. See how copy trading works for the detail.
What can go wrong
You can lose everything you put on a trade, and with leverage you can lose it quickly. cabbge cannot recover a position for you, because it cannot move your funds. Copy prompts arrive up to a minute late, since the leader's wallet is polled every 45 seconds, so the price you get is not the price they got. A deployment signs you out of the desk session — one signature to sign back in, and your positions are unaffected because they live on Hyperliquid, not here.
